Today’s Figure Drawings

Thursday, May 28th, 2009 | Drawings, Felix, Life-Drawing | No Comments

I just scanned in two of them, because the process is so slow. The rest of them were more or less line-drawings (with varying amounts of value and subtlety). These two focus on the value, so I thought they’d make a good contrast with the pieces from Tuesday.

Tuesday’s Drawings

Thursday, May 28th, 2009 | Drawings, Felix, Life-Drawing | No Comments

All right, here’s some stuff from Tuesday. Today’s post will come in a minute or two. Most of these are live figure drawings. The last one’s just a warmup sketch I did before the model arrived to get my eyes and fingers working in the same space.

Scribbly Bus Tableau

Howdy, folks. I’ve got some other drawings I’d like to post, but don’t have access to a large-format scanner that I need to deal with them. So… I promise an hour or two of figure drawings in addition to everything else you should expect from me. When I have time to scan them.

Speaking of time, I’m moving from my apartment of nine months or so to a new place, so my schedule’s a bit dodgy. Hopefully I’ll have time to throw up sketches, though.

Sketches, one by a Guest Artist

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 | Drawings, Felix, Life-Drawing | No Comments

Who is the guest artist, you might ask? You’ve seen her once or twice or a few more times in my drawings, and this time she opted to draw me during the last drawing of mine (#3 in this series).

The drawings are as follows: “Cross-Legged” (Foreshortened— she isn’t fat!), “Passed Out,” and “Clear-Eyed.” You’ll notice from the drawing of me that she did while I drew her that her eye is perhaps sharper than mine. How frustrating.

Apologies for the long post, but we’ve got a bunch of stuff going on here. The final Charcoal Value Exploration (click for a larger version if you’re so inclined) alongside a series of figure explorations. Enjoy!

It’s good to be drawing again! I hope to polish this and get a decent scan tomorrow.
