Gaja (Totem Elephant)

This collaboration ended up looking more like my own stuff, I think. Perhaps a T-shirt design?

Venus & Equus

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 | Abstract, Drawings, Felix | No Comments

This one took us quite a while, but I think we both had a lot of fun drawing it. I encourage you to click to get a look at the detail — a lot of the fun was in creating very intricate textures. I’m not accustomed to working with such a fine-tipped pen, but it does allow some liberties that a wider line doesn’t offer.

Pipe Dream

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 | Abstract, Drawings, Felix | No Comments

A collaboration. This one didn’t turn out quite how either of us was hoping. The dream got away from us and out of control.

Adventure

Please click to see this collaboration at a larger size. The theme today is adventure, as seen through the lens of a child’s imagination. Set sail for new horizons, matey!

Tree Breath

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 | Abstract, Drawings, Felix | No Comments

This is another piece with my frequent collaborator, with many of the usual ideas and a few new ones to liven things up. The piece is joined by some short verse written to accompany. Click the image to enlarge.

And there existed
Bouncing between
The tree breath
Crushing waves
Chimes singing
Surfing the gusts of wind

She fell in love with
The hot air
That kept my home
My hot air balloon
Afloat

And from above
Between lightning bolts
Athena and comfy chair clouds
I watched the elephants bathe

And kept my fingers
Crossed for Romeo
And for Juliet

I watched dragons shed scales
Against pointed rocks from
Before time

I watched white-sailed ships
Weather ocean waters
Almost as fast as I
Watched the world
Floating on
Tree breath
